Logistics Manager

About the role

Transco International is looking for a qualified & experienced logistics Manager based in Melbourne to manage and oversee its operations across three locations in Melbourne.

Job Responsibilities

● Overseeing all supply chain operations.

● Organizing and managing inventory, storage, and transportation.

● Ensuring the safe and timely pick-up and delivery of shipments.

● Monitoring shipments, costs, timelines, and productivity.

● Liaising and negotiating with suppliers and retailers.

● Understanding of the supply chain, including common obstacles and effective solutions

● Arrange transportation, schedule staff, and orchestrate deliveries to meet customer demand with little to no delay

● Makes sure warehouse capacity is kept at optimal levels

● Manages activities throughout the order fulfilment and transportation cycle to make sure established deadlines are met

● Continually reviews freight costs, transportation rates, and/or the prices of raw materials to keep costs down where possible

● Streamlines shipping and transportation processes

● Provides management reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing management information.

● Evaluate the efficacy of risk management procedures that are currently in place.

● Maintain cordial relationships with vendors, retailers, and customers.

● Resolve problems associated with transportation, import and export, customer problems, and logistics systems

● Develop and implement policies, safety procedures, and risk management plans.

● Managing and directing warehouse staff and monitoring their performance.

Benefits and perks

$76,550 + Superannuation

Qualifications and Experience

1. Bachelor’s degree in Logistics and/or supply chain management. Post-graduation degree will be an advantage.

2. 5+ year experience in logistics and supply chain management.

3. 1+ year’s experience of working with an Australian Logistics company in a management role

4. Experience of dealing with Asian & South Asian markets and agencies.

5. Corporate presentation and communication skills

6. Positive and determined attitude.
