Our head office is located on unceded Jagera and Turrbal Land in South Brisbane, with many of our services spanning across the entire state.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This position provides specialist counselling supporting women’s recovery and healing from experiences of domestic, family, and sexual violence. Therapeutic counselling is the main function of this role though additionally, this role may also include case management and the facilitation of therapeutic and educational groups.
As a Counsellor (Healing and Recovery Team), you will;
Provide trauma-informed counselling: Deliver counselling and, occasionally, case management services to women and gender-diverse people who have experienced domestic, family, and/or sexual violence.
Support recovery and empowerment: Develop and monitor individualised care plans, ensuring they align with each participant’s unique health and wellbeing needs.
Collaborate for participant outcomes: Work closely with internal teams and external services to provide warm, effective referrals and supports.
Shape continuous improvement: Contribute to the development of best-practice counselling frameworks, professional education, and resources that promote women’s healing and recovery.
This is an office-based role located in South Brisbane. It includes virtual as well as in-person counselling appointments.
ABOUT YOU
You are a compassionate and dedicated professional with the skills to support women through their healing and recovery journeys.
Trauma-informed practitioner: You bring a deep understanding of the effects of domestic, family, and sexual violence and are skilled in providing person-centred, trauma-informed care.
Collaborative and adaptable: You thrive in a team environment and are proactive in working with participants and colleagues to achieve shared goals.
Knowledgeable and experienced: You have Bachelor or Master Level qualifications in counselling or social work, and at least two years’ experience supporting vulnerable client groups.
Culturally responsive: You are committed to working inclusively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other diverse communities to ensure culturally safe and equitable service delivery.
