The Sexual Health and Sexual Assault Service at the Mackay Community Health Centre is seeking applications for a Psychologist (Sexual Assault) to join their team on a permanent basis.

Your opportunity

  • Deliver psychology clinical services to patients of the Mackay Sexual Service – including clients who have experienced or are supporting someone who has experienced sexual assault or violence; as well as clients who identify as gender diverse, or have any psychological needs related to their sexual health.
  • Work as a member of a dynamic, highly professional team of Psychologists, within a multidisciplinary team setting and in a Health Psychology context.
  • Your role will include assessment, therapy and potentially group work.
  • Completion of psychometric assessments as part of the broader MHHS Psychology Department accepting referrals from within the whole MHHS.
  • You will have the opportunity to contribute to innovative models of service and provide discipline specific services and consultation as required within the team and the service.

About the Team

The Mackay Sexual Health Service (MSHS) is located within the Mackay Community Health Centre, 12-14 Nelson Street, Mackay. This facility also provides services inclusive of Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drug Services and Breast Screen. The MSHS is located off the courtyard toward the rear of the Mackay Community Health Services building which has entrances from Nelson St. through the main foyer and from Wellington Street through the government car park at the rear. This Service operates Monday -Friday between the hours of 0800 – 1630. The Mackay Sexual Health Service provides services to all persons over 14 years of age.
