We are seeking an experienced Medical Receptionist to join our surgical specialist practice in the Adelaide CBD . This practice will be relocating to new consulting rooms in St Peters in 2 months. The ideal candidate will have a bright and professional manner in-person and on the phone, a commitment to confidentiality, and a strong sense of empathy and compassion for our patients. A back ground in medical reception is preferred.

The role is intended for a part-time position of 2-4 days per week and leave cover. Full time hours are negotiable. No weekend work or shift work is required. Looking at a start date in August-September but this is flexible.

The role includes, but is not limited to:

Greeting and checking-in patient in a professional manner

Answering phones, following up on enquires, uploading and entering data

Oversee appointment diary management and patient scheduling

Prepare and receipt payments from patients, Medicare, and health funds

Organising patient quotes

Booking and managing theatre lists

Dictating and proofing reports or letters when needed

Be the main point of contact for reception

Ensure that all aspects of the role are carried out with confidentiality

Promote cooperation and commitment within a team to maximise team performance.

The ideal candidate will be/have:

Previous experience in a medical receptionist role, with demonstrated leadership capabilities.

Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of people and cultures

Effective communication skills

Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team environment

Demonstrated patient-focused approach with genuine empathy and interest in their needs

High standard clerical/administration skills including accurate data entry, document preparation, scanning and filing

Proficiency in medical billing software (Gentu or Genie desirable)

Ability to prioritise tasks and delegate responsibilities effectively

An understanding of Medicare claiming and billing and/or Medical Terminology (desirable)

Have a national police check and working with children clearance
