The City of Launceston, an award-winning Employer of Choice, is currently seeking to fill the following position:
Position Title: Asset Officer
Position Number: POS1555
This permanent, full time position supports the effective management of Council’s asset portfolio through the development and maintenance of asset data. The role assists with maintenance planning, routine asset inspections, and provides day-to-day support to internal Asset Owners. It contributes to the planning and management of assets in line with the Strategic Asset Management Plan and best practice principles.
The position also responds to internal and external enquiries, and supports financial tracking, budgeting, and grant reporting to ensure compliance and accurate reconciliation.
We are looking for someone who demonstrates, through behaviour, an alignment and an understanding of our values and has the following qualifications, skills and experience:
Create and Innovate: displays initiative & considers different ideas and perspectives;
Demonstrated ability to work harmoniously and effectively in a team, facilitating information transfer, collaborating with other team members;
High level of skill using excel, databases, interpreting and manipulating data;
High level of attention to detail, written and verbal communication skills;
Experience with corporate accounting/costing and asset management processes and software; and
Relevant technical qualifications (e.g. qualifications in asset management) or demonstrated experience in a relevant field.
