The office of Senator Josh Dolega is seeking applications for a full-time, ongoing Electorate Officer – Community Engagement and Office Support (EOA), based in the Electorate Office in Devonport, Tasmania.

The salary is $74,095 with an optional allowance of up to $11,185 in recognition of additional hours worked. The salary and allowance are subject to a pay increase which will take effect on 5 August 2025.

About the Role

Senator Josh Dolega is a proud Labor Senator for Tasmania, focused on delivering real outcomes for Tasmanians. He is committed to being a visible and active presence in the community, particularly across the North West Coast of Tasmania.

Team Dolega are looking for a community-minded organiser with Labor and trade union values to support our community outreach and office operations and join our team as an Electorate Officer – Community Engagement and Office Support (EOA). Key Responsibilities

Community Engagement Support

Execute Community Engagement Plans (incl. logistics and preparation) in collaboration with the Senator and Member’s offices (as required)

Create, maintain and regularly update a list of community events that the Senator should attend, in collaboration with the Adviser

Maintain a register of community groups and stakeholders to support outreach and engagement

Support the Adviser to maintain strong relationships with community groups, organisations, businesses and constituents, building strong community connections

Attend and assist with electorate events and activities with Senator Dolega and/or office staff

Organise copies of Hansard to be sent out to stakeholders in the electorate including:

Cutting electronic versions of the Senator’s speeches for use across digital platforms

Extract excerpts of speeches from Hansard to send or present to community members where relevant

Collate electronic copies of Parliamentary speeches (as required)

Administrative Support

Function as the first point of contact (sitting at reception desk) for constituents and other visitors to the Electorate Office, and direct queries to relevant people

Organise the office resource room and monitor stock levels

Manage boardroom bookings

Manage office postal requirements

Post and mail collection, maintain mail register and disseminate mail as required

Maintain a list of key dates

Birthdays

Days of national and state significance

Undertake community printing (as requested)

Perform general administrative duties (data entry, filing, record keeping)

Event and Promotional Support

Coordinate the purchase and preparation of promotional materials (e.g. flags, banners, mobile office signage)

Perform other duties as required by the Senator

Employment Conditions

This position is offered under the Members of Parliament (Staff) Act 1984, with conditions outlined in the Commonwealth Members of Parliament Staff Enterprise Agreement 2024–27, including:

Salary: $74,095

Optional additional allowance of up to $11,185 for reasonable additional hours

15.4% employer superannuation contribution

Relocation assistance, study support, and paid study leave (subject to eligibility)

Three-month probationary period (may be extended)

Compliance with the Behaviour Code for Staff and a National Police History check may be required
