Building & Facilities Project Officer
Position Information

Are you passionate about managing buildings and facilities projects, demonstrating exceptional attention to detail, excelling in a collaborative team environment and bring a proactive and innovative approach which will support our Infrastructure & Assets department?

Kentish and Latrobe Councils are looking for a motivated Building & Facilities Project Officer to join our team. This is a shared position between the two Councils, offering diverse experiences and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact across both municipalities.

In this full-time role, you will investigate, develop, implement, oversee and commission projects related to Council owned buildings and facilities. This includes leased or licensed properties, ensuring these projects are safe, fit for purpose, sustainable, provide good value and deliver an appropriate return on investment.

About Us

The Latrobe and Kentish Councils are located adjacent to each other in the North-West of Tasmania and cover an area from the coastal beaches of Port Sorell to the highland regions of Mount Roland and Cradle Mountain.

Latrobe and Kentish Councils value collaboration and partnerships both within and outside their municipalities. As part of their business model, the Councils have entered into a resource-sharing arrangement. This allows both Councils to deliver services and outcomes for their respective communities to gain benefits that may have been otherwise unattainable.

Since the inception of the resource sharing arrangements in 2010, the number of resources shared has steadily grown and the two Councils now operate as one organisation with each Council retaining their respective elected representatives.

Why Work with Us?

At Latrobe and Kentish Councils, we pride ourselves on fostering a supportive and inclusive workplace culture. Here are some of the benefits you’ll enjoy:

Flexible Working Arrangements: Achieve work-life balance with options tailored to your needs, including a 19-day month with rostered days off arrangements.
