About the role
What we are looking for:
Community Care is seeking a self-motivated individual to enhance social connection in older people by developing and implement programs, sharing information and supporting Seniors clubs and groups.
The main responsibilities of this position include:
· Community Engagement & Research: Conduct ongoing research and consult with community stakeholders to identify and support socially isolated older adults.
· Collaboration & Program Development: Work with Council departments and Community Care staff to develop and recommend programs that enhance social engagement.
· Information Management & Communication: Maintain accessible databases, manage social media, contribute to newsletters, and respond to public inquiries.
· Support for Seniors Groups: Provide regular support, facilitate collaboration and assist with funding and governance for Seniors Clubs and Groups.
· Activity Planning & Delivery: Identify, prioritise and organise events and programs such as day trips and the Seniors Festival.
· Strategy Implementation: Support projects aligned with the Positive Ageing Strategy goals.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the following:
You will have a Certificate IV in business or equivalent. You will have the ability to independently plan, organise, and manage time effectively to meet deadlines. A strong understanding of the needs of older adults and individuals from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds is essential, with the ability to speak a second language considered an advantage. Excellent written communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills are necessary to build trust and maintain confidentiality. Additionally, advanced computer proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, is required for preparing documents, reports, presentations and managing databases.

You may be required to undertake practical testing, work preference profiling / psychometric testing, functional capacity assessment (physical) or aptitude testing.
The successful candidate will be asked to produce a clear Working with Children Check and will be asked to consent to a national police check (and where relevant an 'international criminal history check'), subject to the operation of spent conviction laws.
