Role Description
This is a part-time on-site role for a Community Engagement Officer, located in Werribee, VIC. Community Engagement Officer will be responsible for developing and managing PR and Marketing campaigns, creating press releases, handling media relations, and ensuring effective internal and external communication. The role also involves overseeing project timelines, coordinating with stakeholders, and managing PR and Marketing initiatives from conception to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
Staff Leadership and Culture

Operational Oversight
ยท Coordinate community engagement initiatives and ensure their alignment with company objectives.
ยท Oversee execution of campaigns, events, and stakeholder activities for optimal impact.
ยท Ensure smooth workflows and team coordination across departments related to outreach and brand building.Systems & Process Improvement
ยท Systems & Process Improvement
ยท Review and enhance internal processes for client acquisition, stakeholder engagement, and external partnerships.
ยท Implement systems that allow real-time tracking of new leads, referrals, and partnership performance.
ยท Introduce automation or streamlining strategies for ongoing improvements.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
ยท Identify and nurture client and partner relationships through ongoing communication and tailored initiatives.
ยท Ensure excellent client experiences and maintain strong rapport with plan managers, support coordinators, and community groups.
ยท Lead outreach that enhances trust, loyalty, and long-term engagement.
Strategic Leadership & Growth
ยท Design and execute growth strategies, ensuring targets for client acquisition and retention are met.
ยท Drive initiatives that align with Caring Lotusโs strategic plan, mission, and future direction.
ยท Evaluate market trends and recommend strategies for future positioning.
Financial Oversight
ยท Develop and manage budgets for community events, promotional activities, and brand initiatives.
ยท Monitor variances and ensure spend aligns with expected ROI and company strategy.
ยท Support revenue growth by ensuring community engagement contributes directly to financial targets.
Training & Development
ยท Support internal staff with training around community messaging, client onboarding, and public representation.
ยท Contribute to knowledge-sharing around the disability sector, funding systems, and advocacy best practices.
ยท Identify training gaps within the team and recommend solutions.
Recruitment & Workforce Planning
ยท Assist in identifying workforce needs related to client engagement and brand initiatives.
ยท Collaborate on recruiting individuals for roles supporting community and client interaction.
ยท Support succession planning for roles within the community engagement space.
Reporting & Communication
ยท Prepare reports on lead conversion, partnership ROI, event success, and market trends.
ยท Communicate key findings to leadership and provide recommendations for action.
ยท Maintain clear documentation and communication for accountability and transparency.
Community Engagement & Representation
ยท Represent Caring Lotus at external events, expos, fundraisers, networking functions, and advocacy platforms.
ยท Amplify client and staff success stories to external stakeholders and media.
ยท Act as a professional and values-driven ambassador for the organisation in the community.
Other Responsibilities
ยท Perform other duties as required or asked to meet business needs.
Qualifications and Skills:
ยท Bachelorโs degree in Business, Marketing, Community Development, Disability Services, or related field desired.
ยท Demonstrated experience in business development, stakeholder engagement, or community outreachโideally within the disability, aged care, or health sector.
ยท Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and build lasting relationships.
ยท Ability to think strategically and creatively, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and growth.
ยท High-level written communication skills to produce proposals, promotional materials, and strategic reports.
ยท Empathetic, values-aligned, and committed to empowering people with disabilities and building inclusive communities.
ยท Comfortable using CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and digital communication platforms.
ยท Event coordination, public speaking, or media engagement experience (desirable but not essential).

Education:
Preferred: Bachelorโs degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Community Development, or related discipline
Ongoing commitment to professional development and sector-specific training is highly regarded
