About the Role

This is an opportunity to combine strategic vision with operational leadership. You will guide the Trust’s next chapter—driving adaptive re-use of heritage places, fostering regenerative tourism, and ensuring long-term financial sustainability.

As Managing Director (CEO), you will:

Lead implementation of our Strategic Plan

Manage daily operations across multiple properties and teams

Spearhead revenue generation, partnerships, and fundraising

Advocate publicly for Tasmania’s rich cultural heritage

Inspire a committed workforce and network of volunteers

What You’ll Bring

Senior leadership experience—preferably in the not-for-profit, cultural or tourism sectors

Strong operational, financial and governance skills

Outstanding communication and stakeholder management

Experience in fundraising, philanthropy or securing government support

Knowledge of heritage, conservation or place-based tourism is highly desirable
