ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re seeking an experienced State Sales Manager to lead the Queensland sales operations, based out of the Brisbane (Eagle Farm) branch. You’ll be responsible for delivering the State Sales Budget through hands-on business development, effective sales leadership, and strategic account targeting.

Leading a small but focused team of two direct reports, you’ll drive new business acquisition, expand strategic accounts, and identify growth opportunities across sectors like mining, infrastructure, engineering, and construction. You’ll also work closely with the national leadership team to develop and execute growth strategies tailored to the Queensland market.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Achieve and exceed the QLD state sales budget through new business and strategic account growth
  • Manage, mentor and support a team of two BDMs with clear KPIs, pipeline reviews and field coaching
  • Personally engage with high-value clients and major project opportunities to drive top-line growth
  • Identify new market sectors and expand share of wallet with existing key accounts
  • Contribute to tender responses, pricing structures, and margin optimisation strategies
  • Collaborate with branch operations staff to ensure smooth fulfilment and customer satisfaction
  • Regularly report on sales performance, forecasting, and market conditions to senior management
  • Represent the business at trade shows, industry events and customer presentations across the state

CANDIDATE PROFILE

We’re looking for a hands-on sales leader with a proven background in industrial B2B sales and a strong understanding of the trade, mining, or construction sectors. You’re driven, strategic, and comfortable managing a team while also directly engaging with customers. You’ll ideally bring:

  • Previous experience in a State or Regional Sales Manager, or Senior BDM leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of industrial equipment, spare parts or surface preparation industries i.e abrasives, welding, tools, rigging, power transmission, pumps, coatings, or similar are highly regarded
  • Technical aptitude—trade background (e.g. Fitter, Mechanic) advantageous but not essential
  • CRM proficiency and disciplined approach to pipeline, forecasting, and sales reporting
  • Strong commercial acumen and relationship-building skills
