This role is a remote role, that allows you to work anywhere you are in Australia. There is an office in Sydney you are welcome to work from, but our great team are all around the country.
Waves of Wellness (WOW) Foundation is a for-purpose mental health charity committed to changing the face of mental health. We strive to change lives through innovative mental health and wellbeing programs based on our three pillars of wellness: social inclusion, connection to nature, and engagement in meaningful activity.
WOW's programs are an 8-week evidence based learn-to-surf program for people experiencing mental health issues. It facilitates functional recovery, while promoting social inclusion, engagement and enhanced quality of life. The program introduces surfing to participants as a way to improve physical health, mental health and wellbeing in a neutral, non-intrusive environment in addition to providing participants with weekly mental health discussions and skill development. The program uses the ocean and surfing as a conduit to explore, stimulate and facilitate positive health outcomes.
About the role
The National Programs & Research Manager is responsible for the strategic planning, operational delivery, quality assurance, and continuous improvement of all national surf therapy programs. This role combines direct program management, staff and volunteer development, stakeholder engagement, and oversight of monitoring and evaluation frameworks and research reporting. The position ensures best practice delivery, compliance, and growth of the organisation’s mental health programs across multiple locations.

About you:
Registered Psychologist
Strong program management and coordination experience, ideally in the mental health or community sector.
Experience in staff/volunteer training and development.
High level of organisation, administration, and project management skills.
Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and leadership abilities.
Experience with CRM/database systems and monitoring/evaluation frameworks.
Understanding of trauma-informed practice and evidence-based mental health interventions.
