About the Role As the Clinical Coding Coordinator you will coordinate, support and supervise the clinical coding staff and their associated workload ensuring clinical coding targets and timeframes are met. You will support, develop and monitor coding processes to facilitate accurate and timely completion of all clinical coding related activities including documentation queries, workload distribution, and statistics. - Minimum 5 years of full-time equivalent clinical coding experience in a tertiary or secondary hospital
- Completed a Bachelor of health Information Management or a clinical coding diploma with Health Information Management Association of Australia (HIMMA) or equivalent.
- Ability to consult in the development of Clinical Coding audit programs
- Ability to effectively liaise with external Clinical coding auditors/educators
- Sound knowledge of the health fund contract system
- Strong understanding of Casemix and Diagnosis Related Groups (DRG)
- Demonstrated good understanding of anatomy, physiology, diseases and/or pathological processes
- Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement activities and excellence in customer service
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Proficient computer skills using MS Office Suite.
Desirable:
- Previous public/private hospital experience
- Previous experience in a management role.
