The Opportunity

We’re hiring 2 experienced Leading Hand Carpenters to join our Coolum Beach head office. In this role, you’ll lead a team of tradespeople and apprentices through modular unit production and installation, ensuring smooth operations, quality outcomes, and a safe, positive work environment.

You’ll work closely with the Production Manager, Site Manager, and Project Team to keep builds on track and up to Saltair’s high standards.

Your Day-to-Day

Lead and mentor teams through modular construction and site installs

Allocate daily tasks, conduct toolbox talks, and oversee workflow

Coordinate with production, design, and site teams

Ensure work meets specs, codes, and safety requirements

Manage integration of prefabricated modules with on-site components

Troubleshoot defects, site challenges, and logistics issues

Enforce WHS protocols and maintain a strong safety culture

What You’ll Need

Trade qualification (e.g., Carpentry) and White Card

2–5 years in a relevant trade with Leading Hand or Supervisory experience

Valid Driver’s Licence (Forklift ticket highly regarded)

Experience leading teams across modular or residential projects

Ability to read construction schedules and technical drawings

Familiarity with safety and compliance systems (WHS, Quality, Environmental)

Strong communication, initiative, and team management skills

Desirable: Cert IV in Building & Construction, First Aid, Site Safety Supervisor training
