Josh Olsen Carpentry, a respected family-owned construction business based in Brisbane, is seeking a skilled and motivated Qualified Carpenter to join our growing team as a Leading Hand. We specialise in high-quality renovations and residential construction across Brisbane and pride ourselves on our supportive, professional environment.

About the Role

Full-time, wages paid (rate based on experience)

6-month probationary period

Immediate start available

Work across Brisbane and surrounding suburbs

Key Responsibilities

Lead and deliver a variety of renovation and construction projects to a high standard

Supervise and mentor apprentices and junior team members

Liaise with clients, suppliers, and other trades as required

Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with relevant regulations

Maintain a tidy and organised work site

Requirements

Certificate III in Carpentry (or higher)

Minimum 2–3 years post-apprenticeship experience (more highly regarded)

Proven experience in residential renovations and construction

White Card (Construction Induction)

Own utility vehicle with racks or ability to transport materials

Full set of carpentry tools and PPE

Strong leadership skills and experience working with apprentices

Ability to read plans, problem-solve, and communicate effectively

Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of a small team

Desirable

Experience as a leading hand or in a similar supervisory role

Excellent attention to detail and pride in workmanship

Willingness to contribute to a positive team culture
