About the Organisation:

This charming, boutique accounting firm based in North Brisbane is run by a highly experienced Chartered Accountant, who sees her team flourish through constant support and investment in their growth! Her personable nature and expertise has attracted a lot of new and long-standing clients, and she is seeking an experienced Tax Accountant/Supervisor (ideally, licensed) to assist with managing the team on a full-time OR part-time basis.

This is a brilliant opportunity for an experienced Accountant who is keen to train team members (roughly 5), review work and support the partner with client engagement. Excellent flexibility and understanding for someone who would benefit from a flexible arrangement.

Key responsibilities:

• Review tax returns, financial statements and BAS' prepared by the accountants (including offshore team)
• Assist with training and mentoring the junior staff members as needed
• Communicate with clients and answer queries
• Assist the partner on an adhoc basis with client meetings and advanced accounting work

Skills and Experience:

• At least 5+ years' experience working as a public practice accountant AND demonstrated experience reviewing/mentoring junior staff
• Tax registration license or BAS registration (ideal!)
• Strong knowledge of Australian tax practice and reporting standards
• A keen eye for detail and strong communication skills
• Experience using Xero and Excel is a bonus
