We are proud to partner with a leading renewable energy developer to appoint a Project Development Manager – Wind Energy. This senior role offers the opportunity to deliver nationally significant wind projects, playing a key part in Australia’s clean energy transformation.

Role Overview
As Project Development Manager, you will take responsibility for progressing multiple wind energy projects from early-stage development through to construction readiness. You will lead environmental and planning approvals, grid connection activities, technical studies, stakeholder engagement, and commercial negotiations—ensuring projects are strategically advanced to Final Investment Decision (FID).

Key Responsibilities

Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSE)

Promote and support a Zero Harm safety culture in all project activities.

Comply with HSE policies and procedures and encourage safe work practices across the team.

Proactively identify and report risks, incidents, and near misses.

Take personal accountability for the safety and wellbeing of yourself and others.

Financial Management (10% of time)

Contribute to the development and management of the annual business plan.

Develop robust business cases to support investment in new wind projects.

Set and manage project budgets with both short-term and long-term financial considerations.

Collaborate with the finance team to monitor and report on project expenditure.

Project Development (70% of time)

Drive wind projects from inception through to ready-to-build stage.

Oversee planning approvals, environmental assessments, resource assessments, and grid connection processes.

Manage project design, procurement strategies, and technical studies.

Collaborate with internal teams across the business to ensure alignment and achievement of project milestones.

Business & Stakeholder Engagement (10% of time)

Serve as the primary point of contact for project partners, consultants, and key stakeholders.

Foster and maintain relationships with landholders, local communities, and regulatory authorities.

Engage effectively with internal stakeholders to align project goals with broader business objectives.

Contract Management (10% of time)

Engage and oversee external consultants for planning, environmental, and grid connection studies.

Manage contracts to ensure delivery of key project requirements and progress towards FID.

Ensure all contractual obligations are met and project timelines remain on track.

Qualifications & Experience

Degree-qualified in engineering, environmental science, planning, commerce, or related fields.

Proven experience in renewable energy project development, particularly wind projects.

Strong stakeholder and landholder engagement expertise.

Solid project management skills with a track record of delivering complex projects.

Understanding of Australia’s energy markets, regulatory frameworks, and grid connection processes.

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Additional certifications or qualifications in project management or renewable energy are advantageous.
