The opportunity

We are seeking a dynamic and versatile Content Marketing Specialist to lead our marketing efforts as the sole marketing expert within the organisation. This is a unique opportunity for a self-starter who thrives in a broad and autonomous role, with the ability to shape and execute our content strategy from the ground up.

As the Content Marketing Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and delivering compelling content across multiple channels to drive brand awareness, engagement, and lead generation. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and external providers.

This is a great opportunity for a hands-on Marketing Content Specialist to use your skills in social media, content creation and web to promote initiatives that make a difference in the lives of Australians impacted by trauma. Key Responsibilities

Content Strategy & Creation

Develop and execute a comprehensive content marketing strategy aligned with business goals

Create high-quality, on-brand marketing materials, communications, and content across digital and print channels

roduce digital communications, arrange interviews, generate content, and maintain a pipeline of topics and article ideas

Maintain and update website content, including blogs, fact sheets, and promotional materials

Campaign & Channel Management

Plan and manage integrated marketing campaigns across digital platforms

Monitor and manage social media channels, develop content, schedule posts, maintain a content calendar, and respond to enquiries

Assist with the design, delivery, and promotion of events, forums, and workshops

Support the production of high-quality videos, webinars, and podcasts

Performance & Reporting

Track and analyse performance metrics to measure the success of campaigns, website traffic, and social media engagement

Provide regular reporting and insights to inform future strategy and content planning

Stakeholder Collaboration

Work closely with internal stakeholders to align marketing efforts with business priorities under the guidance of the Chief Financial Officer

Liaise with external vendors and freelancers to support content production and campaign execution

Budget & Resource Management

Ensure efficient use of the allocated marketing budget, including timely approval and tracking of invoices

Selection Criteria

Essential

Completion of a degree in a relevant discipline or relevant work-related experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training

Digital marketing experience, with skills in managing social media channels, e-newsletter production and website updates

Excellent writing and editing skills to ensure high quality publications and communications

Ability to proactively seek out information, build rapport and liaise with stakeholders across the business

Proficient skills in Adobe Suite (Photoshop), WordPress or similar web management system, social media management and email marketing tools

Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

Excellent interpersonal skills

Willingness to occasionally travel, if required

Desirable

Experience working with or a good understanding of trauma-affected populations such as first responders, military/veteran, disaster impacted communities

A demonstrated interest in mental health and mental health related issues

Knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in the digital marketing space

Experience working as part of a small team

Job Complexity, Skills, Knowledge

Level of Supervision / Independence

The incumbent will work under routine supervision to general direction depending upon experience and the complexity of the tasks.

Professional and Organisational Knowledge

The incumbent is expected to have the relevant professional knowledge of regulations, policies and techniques as they apply to digital marketing and apply these to deliver an effective digital marketing program.

Resource Management

The position will manage their own time and resources under the broad direction of the Chief Financial Officer. The incumbent will raise the requirement for additional resources and/or tools as required.

The incumbent is not required to manage other staff members; however, they may be called upon to lead small working groups or facilitate broader teamwork for a specific project and task.

This position will not exercise financial delegation.

Breadth of the position

The position will interact with a broad range of staff internal and external to Phoenix Australia, including managers and senior academics. The incumbent is expected to identify areas of improvement in processes, make suggestions for change and assist with the implementation of policies and procedures that may cross team boundaries.

Work Type: Full time (1.0 FTE) Fixed term, one-year contract (renewable)

Superannuation rate: Employer contribution of 12%

Salary Sacrifice: As a health promotion charity up to $15,900 per FBT year

We provide tailored and integrated training, supervision, and consultation services that meet the specific needs of a diverse range of clients, large or small.

Our Clinical Services portfolio oversees the delivery of clinical activities across Phoenix. It offers specialist psychological and psychiatric trauma assessment and treatment services to a range of high-risk populations, as well as community members suffering from trauma related mental health disorders and provides expert advice and support to mental health practitioners working with high- risk clients.

Phoenix Australia is an independent not-for-profit organisation and a registered charity. With an affiliation with the University of Melbourne, we have a close working relationship with the Department of Psychiatry within the Melbourne Medical School. Our Board of Directors includes independent members as well as senior representatives from the Departments of Veterans’ Affairs and Defence.
