About the Role
CAAFLU is seeking a Data and Evaluation Manager to lead the administration and enhancement of our electronic records and statistical information system (Actionstep). This role is crucial in supporting organisational learning, continuous improvement, and data-informed service delivery. You will play a lead role in building CAAFLU’s internal capacity to use data for service planning, advocacy, and reporting.
Key responsibilities:
Administer and maintain Actionstep, including user management, data integrity, and reporting functions
Develop and implement processes that ensure accurate and meaningful data capture across legal and non-legal programs
Produce data reports and dashboards that support operational monitoring and funding requirements
Work collaboratively with managers and staff to build understanding of data needs and support consistent practices
Design and deliver training sessions and resources to enhance staff confidence in using Actionstep
Provide technical support and troubleshoot system issues, liaising with vendors as required
Coordinate internal evaluation activities, including logic models, outcome measures, and feedback mechanisms
Translate complex data into visual formats and reports that demonstrate CAAFLU’s impact
Contribute to funding applications, submissions, and strategic planning with data insights
Work with other Family Violence Prevention Legal Services (FVPLSs) to promote sector-wide consistency in data use
About You
You will be a detail-oriented and collaborative professional who understands the power of data in driving social impact. You’ll bring a background in data systems or evaluation, strong communication skills, and the ability to work with diverse teams.
We’re looking for:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent experience
- Experience managing client databases and reporting systems
- Excellent communication and data visualisation skills
- Ability to work with integrity and maintain confidentiality
- Experience working with or alongside Aboriginal communities (desirable)
Selection Criteria
Essential:
Relevant tertiary qualifications (Degree in relevant discipline) and/or experience is essential.
Highly organised and thorough, with a strong attention to detail.
Understanding of diverse quantitative and qualitative research methodologies and evaluation approaches.
Demonstrate experience in monitoring, analysing, interpreting and reporting on data, including the use of tools such as client databases and systems.
Possess effective communication skills to visualise data in a way that tells a story about CAAFLU work and impact.
Ability to handle sensitive information with integrity and maintain confidentiality at all times.
Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and respond appropriately to demands and challenges.
Proven ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people in a service delivery environment.
Ability to perform as a reliable, productive and constructive team member and the ability to also work autonomously.
Must obtain a Working With Children Clearance (WWCC) and a clear Criminal History Check.
Possess a current ‘C’ Class NT Drivers Licence
Desirable:
Experience working with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people and communities.
Experience working in the Domestic Family and Sexual Violence Sector.

The Central Australian Aboriginal Family Legal Unit (CAAFLU) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation providing culturally appropriate, holistic, trauma-informed legal and casework support services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander victim-survivors of family, domestic and/or sexual violence—predominantly women. CAAFLU operates across Central Australia and the Barkly region with offices in Alice Springs and Tennant Creek, and outreach to remote communities. CAAFLU’s services are built on a unique wraparound model that integrates legal advocacy and non-legal support through collaboration with Aboriginal Client Service Officers (CSOs).
