The office of Senator Josh Dolega is seeking applications for a part-time (up to 28 hours per week), non-ongoing Electorate Officer – Community and Digital Engagement (EOA), based in the Electorate Office in Devonport, Tasmania.
Note: The contract will be until 1 December 2025, with possibility for extension.
The salary is $74,095 (pro rata) with an optional allowance of up to $11,185 in recognition of additional hours worked. The salary and allowance are subject to a pay increase which will take effect on 5 August 2025.

Key Responsibilities
Community Engagement Support
Execute Community Engagement Plans (incl. logistics and preparation) in collaboration with the Senator and Member’s offices (as required)
Monitor local newspapers for stories about constituents and community groups
Regularly review community newspapers for stories about constituents and community groups, input into a local achievements register and raise with the Office & Constituent Manager and Adviser so that follow-up can be undertaken (e.g. congratulatory letter, social media post)
Support the Office Manager and Adviser to develop promotional and communication materials, tailored to local community needs and preferences
Support the Senator to maintain strong relationships with community groups, organisations, businesses and constituents, building strong community connections
Attend and assist with electorate events and activities with Senator Dolega and/or office staff
Digital Content Creation
Create high-quality digital content, including
Flyers
Posters
Social media graphics
Short-form videos and reels
Photography and videography of the Senator at events or community visits (where required)
Maintain and update the Senator’s official website and internal photo library
Administrative Support
Perform general administrative duties (data entry, filing, record keeping)
Perform other duties as required by the Senator

Photography and videography experience

Desirable Experience
Experience in stakeholder management, ideally in the community sector, including the management of community events and outreach on behalf of others, or an ability to learn
Experience managing websites and digital content platforms
A well-developed understanding of local issues, the Government’s agenda, and the broader political landscape, or an ability to rapidly learn
Employment Conditions
This position is offered under the Members of Parliament (Staff) Act 1984, with conditions outlined in the Commonwealth Members of Parliament Staff Enterprise Agreement 2024–27, including:
Salary: $74,095 (pro rata)
Optional additional allowance of up to $11,185 for reasonable additional hours
The above salary and allowance are subject to a pay increase which will take effect on 5 August 2025.
15.4% employer superannuation contribution
Study support, and paid study leave (subject to eligibility)
Three-month probationary period
Compliance with the Behaviour Code for Staff and a National Police History check may be required
