The office of Senator Josh Dolega is seeking applications for a full-time, ongoing Electorate Officer – Constituent and Community Engagement (EOB), based in the Electorate Office in Devonport, Tasmania.
A commencing salary between $74,095 and $80,895 will be negotiated depending on experience and relevant skills, with an optional allowance of up to $11,185 in recognition of additional hours worked. The salary and allowance are subject to a pay increase which will take effect on 5 August 2025.

Key Responsibilities
Constituent Support
Work with and support the Office and Constituent Manager to:
respond to constituent casework
maintain constituent cases in our relationship management databases
build and maintain Federal-State and local government processes and relations for constituent queries
Community Engagement
Prepare Community Engagement Plans in collaboration with the Senator and Member’s offices (as required)
Execute community outreach activities (e.g. mobile offices, community BBQs) and engagement, in collaboration with Team Dolega
Attend and assist with electorate events and activities with Senator Dolega and/or members of Team Dolega
Parliamentary & Committee Work
Prepare research and speeches for parliamentary and committee work (as required) in consultation with the Senator’s Adviser
Office Administration
Support the Office & Constituent Manager to institute and streamline office operations
Record keeping, data entry, filing and other administrative tasks (as required)
Perform other duties as required by the Senator

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and relationship management databases

A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a “can-do” attitude
Demonstrated professional integrity and the ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality
Desirable Experience
Experience in stakeholder management, ideally in the community sector, including the management of community events and outreach on behalf of others.
A well-developed understanding of local issues, the Government’s agenda, and the broader political landscape, or an ability to rapidly learn.
Employment Conditions
This position is offered under the Members of Parliament (Staff) Act 1984, with conditions outlined in the Commonwealth Members of Parliament Staff Enterprise Agreement 2024–27, including:
Salary: $74,095 - $80,895 (dependent on experience)
Optional additional allowance of up to $11,185 for reasonable additional hours
The above salary and allowance are subject to a pay increase which will take effect on 5 August 2025.
15.4% employer superannuation contribution
Relocation assistance, study support, and paid study leave (subject to eligibility)
Three-month probationary period (may be extended)
Compliance with the Behaviour Code for Staff and a National Police History check may be required
