As part of ongoing growth, the business is now looking to appoint an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join their dedicated Light Commercial Projects team. If you're seeking variety, responsibility, and a collaborative environment—this could be the ideal next step.

The Role
Working closely with the Engineering Manager and a highly skilled internal team—including engineers, drafters, estimators and project managers—you will play a key role in the end-to-end delivery of HVAC systems on projects ranging from $200k–$6 million in value. This role combines design oversight with a practical project delivery mindset, tailored to a diverse portfolio of work for long-standing repeat clients.

Responsibilities will include:

• Providing mechanical design input across HVAC systems for commercial and retail buildings
• Working with drafting teams to develop design documentation and coordination drawings
• Collaborating with project managers to ensure seamless design-to-delivery transition
• Attending site meetings to resolve design-related issues
• Engaging with clients, consultants and subcontractors to maintain project flow
• Ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards and client expectations

About You

• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in mechanical services within the building services or HVAC contractor space
• Strong background in mechanical design (preferably with contractor-side experience)
• Proficient in reviewing and interpreting technical drawings and specifications
• Confident communicator with both internal and external stakeholders
• A passion for delivering functional, cost-effective solutions within tight deadlines
• Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
