KEY TASKS:

Detailed tasks and responsibilities of the Mechanical Engineering Technician are as follows:

 Communicating project progress to the manager, proposing technical solutions to address

issues, and applying engineering principles to formulate effective repair strategies.

 Evaluating the extent of container damage and estimating associated repair costs.

 Creating detailed repair plans that outline the scope of work, necessary materials, and

estimated labor expenses.

 Carrying out preparatory work such as cleaning and minor repairs before undertaking welding,

painting, and other restoration activities to return containers to their original condition.

 Conducting comprehensive inspections to verify compliance with quality standards and

customer requirements.

 Recommending modification options to team leaders, considering factors like measurements,

steel type, wall thickness, flooring, ventilation, and insulation needs.

 Discussing project sites and budget constraints with clients to determine project viability.

 Delivering accurate cost estimates based on quality assessments of home containers and their

components.

 Performing routine inspections of equipment and ensuring that all necessary production

materials and repair parts are ordered and received on schedule.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

 At least AQF Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related field.

 Minimum 2 years of full-time relevant work experience.

 Experience in conducting mechanical system tests, collecting and analyzing data, and assembling

and installing mechanical assemblies in support of Mechanical Engineers and Engineering

Technologists.

 Strong desire to learn and value quality workmanship.

 Familiarity with quality systems and safety standards.

 Self-managed to carry out daily tasks in a timely and professional manner.
