Binaal Billa Family Violence Prevention Legal Service is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our growing team as a legal administrative assistant. Remuneration - up to $75,000 based on experience and qualifications

About Binaal Billa:
Binaal Billa, Family Violence Prevention Legal Service (FVPLS) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation (ACCO) based in Forbes, NSW. We provide culturally appropriate services locally and to extended communities via outreach. We offer legal advice and support with inclusive case management to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander victims of family and domestic violence and sexual assault. The organisation is focused on providing the highest level of service to all clients and strengthen community connections.
About the role:
The position of Legal Administration Assistant is responsible for high quality customer services within reception to clients and internal and external stakeholders. The role reports to the Business Development Manager and successful applicant is bound to confidentiality regarding all clients, staff and organisational information. We are seeking someone that can progress in this role as the business grows and is a great opportunity for genuine career development.

Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum Cert III in Legal Services or Cert IV Business Administration (or willingness to obtain)
Previous experience working within the family violence and sexual assault field
Understanding the diverse needs of Aboriginal people and culturally appropriate practices
Preferred Confirmation of Aboriginality (COA)
About You:
· Prior experience as a paralegal or legal assistant with appropriate qualification or equivalent experience (preferred)
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Proven time management and organisational abilities
· A good understanding of Microsoft Office
· Experience with Actionstep (or a willingness to learn)
· An approved National Police Check and Working with Children Check (or ability to gain)
· Hold a current valid driver’s licence
The ideal candidate will:
· Enjoy welcoming clients and other professionals to the office with a professional and friendly demeanor from our reception desk.
· Receive incoming telephone calls and direct calls to the appropriate person.
· Be responsible for booking confidential legal appointments with our solicitors both face to face and online
· Manage accommodation bookings for court support services and outreach visits
· Manage calendars for all staff & book Teams links where necessary
· Assist the Business Development Manager as required
· Maintain the neat presentation of our reception area, meeting rooms, and boardroom and assist with the day to day management of the office.
· Have exceptional attention to detail skills.
· Assist with legal accreditation process and policies and procedures
· Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise tact, initiative and sound judgement
· Manage the incoming office email account.
· Perform general secretarial and administrative support to the team as required.
· Assist in the day to day administration of FVPLS matters
· Be able to develop strong client relationships with clients and the team.
· Have the ability to work autonomously but also enjoy a collaborative environment.

· Have previous experience in a legal receptionist or assistant role (experience in family law or domestic violence highly regarded)
