We are currently looking for a skilled and passionate Sous Chef to join our team at Kindred, an established one-hatted restaurant known for its evolving Italian-focused menu with a modern flair. We pride ourselves on crafting everything in-house and maintaining a high standard of quality.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow into a Head Chef position in the future.

We offer a competitive salary of $80,000-$90,000 + super + tips. We are conveniently located within walking distance of Redfern station.

The restaurant is closed on Sundays and Mondays.

About the role:

As our Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef to oversee all kitchen operations and ensure our high-quality food standards are consistently met. Key responsibilities include:

* Assisting with menu writing and development

* Running busy services

* Teaching and mentoring junior chefs

* Ensuring impeccable kitchen hygiene and cleanliness

* Maintaining a positive kitchen culture

About You:

We are seeking a candidate with previous Sous Chef experience in restaurants of a similar caliber. You should possess:

* A positive and composed demeanor

* The ability to work efficiently while maintaining a high level of quality

* Experience with European/Mediterranean cuisine

* Experience overseeing other kitchen sections

* Proficiency in dealing with suppliers and managing orders

* The ability to follow instructions effectively

* Experience in maintaining a clean and hygienic kitchen environment
