The Role:
We are currently looking for a full-time mentoring coordinator to join our team who has a passion for working with youth at risk, people with a disability and/or mental health issues and disadvantaged demographics.
Located at Burleigh, this position will be an office based administration role that will see you manage your own caseload of families that encompass all the support processes which are required to enable mentoring support and respite activities to occur.
Responsibilities will include:
Scheduling and managing Eco-mentors;
Completing intakes, assessing suitability and matching participants with Eco-mentors;
Liaising with families, Support Coordinators, Plan Managers and other external stakeholders to ensure appropriate support is in place for participants to meet individual and NDIS goals;
Coordinate, manage and resolve enquiries, feedback and complaints in a timely manner;
Communicating updates and changes to families and staff;
Maintaining accurate data currency including scheduling, case noting, timesheet approval and keeping client details up to date;
Provide support, guidance and supervision to Eco-mentors as required;
Manage a dynamic caseload with a strong ability to multitask; and
Identify, evaluate and mitigate risk within 1:1 support sessions.
Selection Criteria:
To be successful in this role, you will need to have exceptional organisational and time management skills; have highly competent interpersonal and communication skills as well as have a passion for working with people with a disability, youth at risk and people with a mental illness and disadvantaged demographics.
Essential:
Minimum 2 years relevant experience in disability, youth or social work sector;
Relevant tertiary qualifications such as social work, youth work or community services or equivalent are highly desirable;
Must be able to effectively prioritise tasks and manage time efficiently;
Experience in administrative support/office management functions;
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
Highly competent at maintaining strong relationships with external stakeholders; and
Ability to work well independently and as part of a small team environment with minimal supervision.
Desirable
Understanding of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
The applicant must also have:
Valid Driver's licence;
Current QLD Paid Blue Card or ability to obtain one;
NDIS Worker Screening Check;
Current First Aid/CPR certification;
Rights to work in Australia.
