Rockhampton Eye Centre is seeking an enthusiastic, experienced medical secretary for a part-time position.

What is your role?

The role will include both medical secretarial duties and work as a clinical assistant in clinics (full training provided). The job will entail supporting our doctors, referring optometists/doctors, patients and their families. Duties will include:

Attending to patients who visit the clinic for their appointments and answer telephone and email enquiries/concerns;

Billing of both inpatients and outpatients using Gentu software via Eclipse;

Submitting of patient claims to Medicare, DVA and private health funds;

Locate, check-in and gather medical records for patient appointments and procedures;

Organise patient theatre bookings and hospital procedure lists

Maintenance of patient files and documentation in a secure and confidential manner;

Organising inventory and supplies for the office.

Assisting with basic clinical workups of patients - testing visual acuity, performing basic clinic scans (OCT) - all training provided.
