About the role

This role manages a portfolio of school bus contracts across metropolitan, rural, regional and remote Western Australia, ensuring the delivery of safe and reliable transport assistance to eligible students. It oversees the full contract lifecycle including procurement, service planning, monitoring, auditing and variation, while building and maintaining strong relationships with contractors and key stakeholders. The position also supports the administration of the Student Transport Assistance Policy and assists with managing student behaviour, incident response and sensitive issues in line with PTA standards.

The role is responsible for coordinating contract administration, conducting compliance audits, reviewing services, and ensuring efficient and cost-effective transport operations. It contributes to procurement activities, maintains accurate records and ensures services meet policy and operational requirements. The position also manages the assessment process for transport assistance applications, provides guidance on policy interpretation, addresses complaints, and works with stakeholders to resolve issues. It plays an important part in student behaviour management by assisting with investigations, supporting contractors and applying behavioural guidelines, with appropriate adjustments for students with special needs.

About You!

To excel in this role, you should possess:

Demonstrates strong understanding of contract management principles, behavioural management practices related to children, and investigative processes involving misconduct or misbehaviour.

Possesses well-developed interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse stakeholder groups and influence outcomes.

Applies sound conceptual, research and analytical skills to interpret information, develop solutions, understand legal documentation, and plan routes using geographical data.

Effectively manages competing priorities in a high-volume environment, processes applications accurately and on time, and works both independently and collaboratively to meet team goals.
