The Team:
Our Biomedical Engineering team is dedicated to ensuring the smooth operation of medical equipment across hospitals and regional health centres throughout Tasmania. With a regional presence in the South, North, and North West, our team operates cohesively within a statewide structure. The team provides onsite support for managing all medical equipment, including acceptance and compliance testing, as well as routine and corrective maintenance services, thereby contributing to better health outcomes for the Tasmanian community.
The Role:
We are seeking a Technical Officer for our team's activities in the North West region, with a specific focus on managing the biomedical inventory at Mersey Community Hospital and North West Regional Hospital. The incumbent will participate in and contribute to a broad range of activities at both the workshop and clinical levels. Responsibilities include hands-on repair and compliance testing, managing service agreements and contractors, and providing specialized technical advice on biomedical equipment, ensuring compliance with all relevant documentation and data requirements.
You will need:
- Sound understanding of the principles of instrumentation and a demonstrated understanding and recognised experience in electronic fault finding and repair. This includes computer-controlled systems and devices.
- Demonstrated communication skills and the ability to effectively liaise with a range of health care workers.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively work both individually and as a member of a team in an environment subject to change.

Details of appointment:
Permanent, Full Time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $81,915 to $94,263 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022
