Workforce Development Manager
Location: Mount Gambier, SA
Employment Type: Full-Time (2-year contract)
Salary: $130,000 per annum Total Remuneration Package (inclusive of superannuation)
About Us: The Green Triangle Forest Industries Hub (GTFIH) is a collaborative partnership established to foster growth in the forest and timber sector, aligning with national goals for sustainable plantation expansion. Representing the entire supply chain, GTFIH delivers strategic initiatives to overcome barriers and drive industry innovation, workforce sustainability, and community prosperity.
About the Role: Funded under the South Australian Wood Fibre and Timber Industry Master Plan, the Workforce Development Manager will lead initiatives to build and sustain a skilled workforce, positioning the forestry sector as a desirable and sustainable career choice.
With one in four working age people in the Limestone Coast relying on the Forest Industry for direct and indirect employment you will collaborate closely with industry partners, educational institutions, government agencies, and community stakeholders to deliver programs aligned with our Workforce Development Strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement workforce strategies and initiatives identified by the Forestry Industries as priorities.
Develop and promote education and career pathways into the forestry industry.
Coordinate and manage projects, including planning, scheduling, and milestone reporting.
Facilitate stakeholder engagement across educational, industry, and community groups.
Oversee communications and social media engagement to enhance the forestry industry’s profile and attract future talent.
Essential Skills & Experience:
Proven experience in project management, including documentation, scheduling, and reporting.
Demonstrated experience in education systems or career engagement programs.
Exceptional interpersonal and stakeholder relationship management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proficiency in managing social media and digital engagement platforms.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with project management software (e.g., Monday.com) is desirable.
Desirable:
Familiarity with primary, secondary, tertiary, and vocational education (VET) systems.
Knowledge of the Forestry, Wood Fibre and Timber Industry
Tertiary qualifications in education, human resources, communications, business or other similar or demonstrated prior learnings and experience.
Special Conditions:
Some out-of-hours and regional/interstate travel required.
A current Driver’s License is essential.
