Strategic Account Director – Key Accounts

An exceptional opportunity exists for an experienced enterprise account leader to take ownership of a portfolio of high-value key accounts in a business redefining how Australia’s largest organisations procure food and everyday essentials. Backed by a market-leading retail group and powered by a purpose-built, technology-enabled B2B platform, this business combines scale and innovation to deliver a state-of-the-art customer experience.

This is a growth-focused, strategic role engaging at C-suite level with enterprise customers, each with annual spend upwards of $10 million. Your mandate is to drive cross-category adoption, increase share of wallet and embed the client’s digital-first procurement platform at the heart of your customers’ operations.

About the Role

As Strategic Account Director – Key Accounts, you will own and grow a portfolio of the business’s most significant enterprise customers. Working closely with C-level stakeholders, you will position the platform as a trusted, end-to-end procurement solution and develop multi-year growth strategies aligned to customer priorities.

You will

  • Manage a portfolio of high-value strategic accounts (each spending circa $10m+ per annum)
  • Develop and execute strategic growth plans that expand customer adoption across categories and increase share of wallet
  • Deepen customer partnerships through regular, high-impact engagement at C-suite and senior leadership level
  • Embed the purpose-built, technology-enabled B2B procurement platform as a core solution, showcasing its state-of-the-art customer portal, dedicated eCommerce capabilities and advanced reporting & analytics
  • Lead cross-sell and upsell initiatives across the portfolio to maximise value for both the customer and the business
  • Act as a trusted advisor to customer leadership, influencing procurement strategies and aligning solutions to business objectives
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across operations, technology, analytics, logistics and commercial teams to deliver seamless outcomes
  • Monitor portfolio performance, market trends and customer feedback to inform ongoing strategy and innovation
  • Advocate internally for enhancements that deliver competitive advantage and greater customer value

About You You are a senior strategic account leader with deep experience managing enterprise portfolios and engaging credibly at C-suite level. You understand how to drive expansion across complex accounts and position technology-enabled solutions as strategic value drivers.

About You

  • 6+ years’ experience in enterprise account leadership, strategic sales or customer success in a B2B environment
  • Proven experience managing a portfolio of key accounts with significant annual spend (>$10m per account)
  • Demonstrated ability to grow share of wallet through cross-category and cross-functional initiatives
  • Strong understanding of technology-enabled procurement solutions, eCommerce platforms, customer portals and analytics
  • Confidence engaging and influencing at C-suite and senior leadership level
  • Expertise in developing and executing multi-year account plans and partnership strategies
  • Commercially astute with strong negotiation and strategic planning skills
  • Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Experience with customers in sectors such as early education, aged care, healthcare, government or industrial services, or working for suppliers to these sectors (e.g. office products, hygiene, PPE, foodservice, education supplies, industrial consumables) would be highly regarded.
