The Role
Based in Melbourne and operating across the VIC region, the Key Account Manager will be responsible for generating and securing specifications within the architecture & design (A&D) and end user channels.
You'll work on long-cycle commercial projects across key market segments: aged care, multi-residential, social housing, and retail.
This is not a transactional sales role — it’s strategic, relationship-driven, and focused on influencing the early stages of project development through to final delivery.
You’ll be a trusted advisor to architects, designers, and developers, helping them bring design visions to life using premium decorative flooring products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive commercial growth by building a strong project specification pipeline
- Develop and manage relationships with Tier 1 & 2 A&D firms and end users
- Attend industry events, networking functions, and maintain a strong presence in the A&D community
- Collaborate with Strategic Account Managers and commercial teams to hold specifications through to order
- Lead project conversations from design consultation to product selection and final delivery
- Maintain accurate pipeline forecasting, CRM updates, and reporting
- Ensure high conversion rates on top project opportunities
- Advocate for the brand’s value proposition and design appeal throughout the sales cycle
Required Skills and Experience:
- Experience in B2B commercial sales within building materials
- Proven success in specification sales targeting architects, designers, and developers
- Strong network in the VIC A&D community – especially with top 20 firms
- Design-conscious with a passion for premium decorative interior products
- Excellent communicator, presenter, and relationship-builder
- Strategic mindset with ability to manage complex, long-term project cycles
- CRM proficient and tech savvy
- Autonomous and driven, but thrives in a collaborative team environment
- Valid driver’s licence required
