About WASEC
The WA Social Enterprise Council (WASEC) exists to support and grow the for-purpose sector in Western Australia. As the state’s peak body for social enterprise, we bring together a thriving network of businesses that prioritise positive impact alongside profit.
Since launching in 2021, WASEC has played a key role in building the sector from the ground up. We’ve grown a diverse membership of 300 organisations, hosted WA’s first-ever Social Enterprise Awards, and delivered hands-on support to help purpose-driven organisations start, grow and succeed.
Our members are tackling some of the biggest challenges facing WA today - from food insecurity, poverty, FDV and homelessness to inclusive employment, housing, and First Nations empowerment - while leading some of the most innovative and values-driven businesses in the state.
About the Role
As we enter our next stage of growth, we’re focused on expanding our reach, deepening connections across sectors, and ensuring WASEC is financially sustainable for the long term.
We’re now looking for a strategic, relationship-focused Partnerships & Growth Lead to help grow our member base, build cross-sector partnerships with government, business and philanthropy, and support the team in securing funding and opportunities to take our work to the next level.
This role is a part-time (3 days/0.6) fixed term contract for 12 months - with a view to extending. You'll have the opportunity to work flexibly and with the team at our Fremantle office.
Key Responsibilities
Grow WASEC’s membership community: Attract and welcome new members by identifying aligned individuals and organisations and communicating the value of being part of the WASEC network.
Strengthen member engagement and retention: Support the Membership Coordinator to keep members informed, connected and active - ensuring that WASEC continues to meet the needs of a diverse and growing sector.
Build strategic partnerships: Identify and broker relationships with government, philanthropic and corporate partners to support WASEC’s programs, strategic priorities, and financial sustainability.
Support fundraising and development efforts: Work with the CEO to prepare pitches, proposals and reports for funders and supporters - including grant applications, sponsorships and impact storytelling.
Contribute to income-generating initiatives: Help design and deliver value-aligned offerings (such as paid programs, products or events) that grow WASEC’s visibility, reach and revenue.
Track progress and share outcomes: Monitor outreach and engagement efforts, capture learnings, and report on outcomes in a clear, values-aligned way.
What You’ll Bring
Experience in partnerships, stakeholder engagement, fundraising or business development (ideally in the for-purpose sector)
Experience working in or with membership organisations, peak bodies or sector-based networks
A strong personal network and existing relationships that can support WASEC’s growth and visibility
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage confidently across sectors
Excellent written and verbal communication, including proposal writing and pitch development
Proactive, organised and comfortable working in a fast-moving, start-up-style environment
Experience working with regional stakeholders and/or communities across Western Australia
Genuine commitment to social enterprise and building a fairer, more inclusive WA economy
Why Join Us
Be part of an innovative, purpose-driven organisation shaping the future of social enterprise in WA
Work flexibly in a small, supportive and ambitious team
Make a meaningful contribution to sector growth and impact
Build high-level networks across government, business and community
