We have an exciting opportunity for two motivated and technically skilled individuals to join our team as Technical Officer Development Engineering!
What You Will Do:
As a Technical Officer Development Engineering, you will work collaboratively with internal departments, developers, consultants, and the community to ensure development aligns with Council's engineering standards, environmental objectives, and regulatory frameworks. In this role, you will evaluate development applications, scrutinise engineering plans and vegetation management submissions, and lend your technical expertise to projects crucial for enhancing our region's liveability, safety, and sustainability.
What We Are Looking For:
Possess graduate or post graduate qualification in engineering or environmental science, or similar from a recognised University or other Tertiary Education Institution or equivalent, or equivalent experience.
Relevant experience in Town Planning or Civil Engineering experience in a field related to Town Planning or Civil Engineering or Local Government.
A working knowledge of Planning Schemes, Planning Act 2016 and associated Legislation or a demonstrated ability to rapidly acquire such knowledge.
Well-developed verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to draft routine correspondence and prepare reports.
Ability to project manage, organise own workload and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Effective communication and negotiation skills, and ability to maintain effective working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
