Finance Officer – WFH (Australia-wide)

Are you an organised and detail orientated finance person? AERO is seeking a talented and driven Finance Officer to support a small finance team!

  • Offering a competitive base salary starting at $59,100 (0.6 FTE) (commensurate with skills and experience) plus 12% superannuation
  • Part time 3 days / 21 hrs per week fixed term contract until 30 June 2026 with potential to be extended.
  • Flexible location, work from home (Australia-wide)

Purpose of the role

The role is primarily responsible for managing a number of finance related tasks. The role will also support the ongoing improvement of AERO’s financial systems, processes and policies.

Accountabilities:

  • Manage and maintain customer and vendor contact files with 100% accuracy including some relationship management.
  • Timely and accurate processing of all financial transactions.
  • Assist with ongoing financial management improvement across the organisation, including playing a key role in identifying the need, development and implementation of new and revised systems, processes and policies.
  • Liaise with internal departments to ensure the smooth administration of finance-related activities.
  • Manage the Finance in-box and action all emails.
  • Assist with the development and ongoing management of budgets.
  • Assist with month end process.
  • Assist with other finance tasks as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in finance and / or related experience in finance

Key knowledge and experience:

  • Experience using accounting systems such as Xero and Approval Max.
  • Knowledge of and experience in applying accounting and finance related concepts.
  • Experience working in a small finance team and across a broad range of finance related tasks.

Skills

  • Strong communication skills and the capacity to work effectively with people at various levels of seniority.
  • Strong skills using Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.
