About the Role

· Perth Film Studios is seeking a skilled and motivated Finance Manager to join our team on a part-time basis.

· This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in the financial operations of Western Australia’s first purpose-built film studio.

· You’ll work closely with the CEO and external accounting partners to manage reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and production payments—helping to shape the financial future of a growing creative enterprise.

Overview

The Finance Manager at Perth Film Studios (PFS) will be a key player in managing the studio's financial operations. This role involves overseeing financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and ensuring the smooth processing of payments for productions. The Finance Manager will work directly with the CEO, collaborate with internal departments and external accounting teams, and contribute to the studio's strategic financial planning. This position offers an exciting opportunity to support Western Australia’s first film studio and be part of Australia’s growing film industry.

Key Responsibilities

· Financial Reporting: Work directly with the CEO to prepare and present financial reports, forecasts, and analyses to the board of directors. Provide clear insights into the studio’s financial performance to guide decision-making.

· External Accounting Collaboration: Liaise with the external accounting team to track budgets, rectify accounts as needed, and process monthly payments efficiently and accurately.

· Financial Modeling: Build and maintain financial models to support forecasting and the development of annual business plans, ensuring the studio is well-prepared for future growth and challenges.

· Budget Oversight: Collaborate with each department to produce annual and quarterly budgets. Assist departments in tracking their spending against these budgets to maintain financial discipline and alignment with studio goals.

· Production Payments: Work with Business Development Director to configure operational invoicing process, liaising directly with clients (film productions) to organise and process payments, ensuring timely and compliant financial support for productions.

Qualifications

· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

· Experience: Strong background in accounting and financial management, with at least 5 years of relevant experience preferred. Experience in the film or entertainment industry is a plus.

· Skills and Attitude:

o Proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel skills.

o Ability to communicate financial concepts effectively to diverse stakeholders.
