Our client is seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Finance Manager to lead and oversee their accounting and finance operations. The Finance Manager will play a vital role in demonstrating exemplary leadership and contributing to a culture of excellence and teamwork within the organisation.

Responsibilities

Team Leadership

• Manage and mentor a diverse team 16 (6 Direct)
• Foster a collaborative and productive work environment while ensuring alignment with the organisation's objectives and core values.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide actionable feedback to empower team members and promote their professional growth.

Financial Operations

• Supervise and continually improve all accounting functions, including accounting team, accounts payable (AP) and in the future payroll.
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end financial close processes.
• Drive efficiency in accounts payable operations by collaborating closely with the AP team lead and clerks.

Budgeting and Forecasting

• Lead the development and monitoring of financial forecasts, budgets, and variance analysis.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining operational excellence.

Compliance and Reporting

• Ensure adherence to relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and present accurate financial reports to the executive management team, board of directors, and key stakeholders.
• Maintain compliance with tax and audit standards, ensuring the company meets all reporting obligations.

Process Improvement

• Identify and implement process improvement initiatives to enhance work flow, accuracy, and efficiency within all finance and accounting functions.
• Utilise technology tools to automate manual processes and streamline operations where appropriate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA, CA, or equivalent professional certification.
• Proven experience in a finance leadership role, managing both qualified and non-qualified team members.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial management, and Australian regulatory requirements
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organisation.
