Role Summary
Second in charge to the CEO, the Senior Service Coordinator leads a diverse Support Team of Service Coordinators, Support Workers and Service Administration, while being responsible for their own portfolio of participants. The Senior Service Coordinator is responsible for the oversight of provision of quality person-centred supports and services, managing compliance, liaising with stakeholders, participants and staff to ensure NDIS participants achieve their goals.
Commencing on SCHADS Level 6, the right candidate will be supported by a thee/four year career progression pathway towards the CEO role. As the Senior Service Coordinator progresses, they may be delegated more complex work on a temporary or ongoing basis, including partial higher duties for the CEO as directed.
Key duties
Include but not limited to:
Team Leadership and Management
Lead the Support Team and work as an individual practitioner.
Provide supervision, advice and operational or procedural direction to the Support Team to enable them to work to the highest standards and in accordance with the MWCLA vision, mission and values, and NDIS standards.
Manage recruitment, selection and induction processes for direct service delivery roles.
Manage the performance of the Support Team, including undertaking performance appraisals, supervision and assisting team members identify opportunities for their ongoing professional development.
Model and implement a culture of continuous improvement that will improve the customer experience.
Customer Services
Supervise intake, determine eligibility and allocate referrals to the Service Coordinators.
Oversee and manage the delivery of quality services that meet the NDIS Quality & Safeguarding Standards
Assist NDIS participants to understand their NDIS plan and develop proposals and service agreements in line with their NDIS plans.
Work in conjunction with the Service Coordinator team in the rostering of Support Workers to support individuals and ensuring this is done in an efficient manner.
Build and maintain effective working relationships with individuals, families, carers and the community in their local area.

Managerial Responsibilities
Responsible for governance, risk and compliance, in conjunction with the CEO.
Coordinate investigations and responses to reported incidents and grievances, escalating to CEO and regulatory bodies as required.
Assist CEO with financial and strategic planning tasks, if delegated.
Liaise with and build relationships with external consultants, organisations, government agencies and other stakeholders.
Represent MWCLA at conferences, networking events, interagency meetings and other events, as required.
Ensure a safe and secure work environment.
Participate in an on the Afterhours On-call roster and provide emergency support as required.
Selection Criteria
To be successful in this position you will need:
Minimum Certificate IV in Disability or higher qualification relevant to the role.
Significant experience in a case management and leadership role.
A proven capacity to understand, engage and motivate staff with a demonstrated ability to inspire and enthuse others, and to accept feedback from others.
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers, customers and contractors.
Commitment to the process of continuous improvement with an ability to think creatively.
Demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail.
Excellent problem solving and organisational skills, and experience in managing change.
Proficient in person centred planning and experience and or knowledge of providing support to people with disability.
A commitment to continuous quality improvement; always seeking more effective and efficient ways to deliver services, taking initiative within role boundaries or bringing ideas to the MWCLA team.
High level time management, caseload management and problem-solving skills and the ability to function independently.
Demonstrated understanding of Work Health and Safety and actively contribute to a safe, supportive and enjoyable work environment.
Well-developed information technology skills.
