Medical Receptionist (Full-Time or Part-Time)

About the Role: We are currently seeking an experienced and friendly Medical Receptionist to join our team at Heart of Canberra; a leading cardiology practice located in Deakin. This position offers the flexibility of either full-time or part-time hours and is ideal for someone who thrives in a patient-focused, professional environment. You will be the first point of contact for our patients and play a key role in supporting both clinical and administrative operations.

Key Responsibilities

Welcoming patients and managing front desk operations

Scheduling appointments and maintaining accurate patient records

Responding to patient enquiries in person, over the phone, and via email

Assisting with medical billing and processing health insurance claims

Ensuring the reception area is clean, organised, and presentable always

Providing general administrative support to clinical and practice staff

Setting up patients for review, stress echo, Holter monitor and BP monitors

Successful applicants will be trained on all aspects of the key responsibilities

What We’re Looking For

Previous experience in a medical receptionist or healthcare administrative role

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Strong organisational and time management abilities

Proficiency in medical practice management software and Microsoft Office

A professional, discreet, and compassionate manner when dealing with patients
