Overview of the Position
As a Medical Receptionist, you’ll be responsible for ensuring Virtual Dermatology’s doctors have all the administrative support needed to deliver excellent and efficient care. You’ll also be helping patients through their care journey, and ensure they have the best possible experience.

What you’ll be doing
Some of the tasks and responsibilities you’ll have include:
Answering calls during hours of work that are within normal business hours. Actioning any tasks arising from these calls.
Ensuring patients have completed pre-consult questionnaires and photo uploads
Finalising billings/charges and Medicare claims
Solving patient issues such as rescheduling, cancellations, billing issues, etc.
Actioning tasks any tasks requested by doctors, e.g. chasing blood test results, etc
Providing suggestions for improvements and automations, actioning or creating these where appropriate.
Some optional areas that you can be involved in, or grow into:
Social media, marketing
Business development
Practice management
Data analytics, automations and AI development
Who you are
Previous experience in customer facing roles. No previous medical receptionist experience required - but excellent people skills are essential.
Someone early in their career and looking to grow into a medical administration career.
Capable handling situations as they occur and comfortable working without supervision
Highly competent working online and comfortable with technology. We use cloud-based platforms for everything we do, and being comfortable on these systems is essential.
Bonus points for:
Experience working from home
Experience in a high performance customer service role
Flexibility in weekly schedule (to match when our doctors are working)
Additional skills in social media, marketing or business development
Hours of Work and Remuneration
Full time role
Some flexible hours on Sunday required (approx 1 hour, at a time of your choosing)
Regular hours of work each week, with flexibility in terms of hours (after hours work is available)
Remuneration is on an hourly basis and entirely dependent on your level of experience and skills
