Medical Receptionist (Part-Time)
At The Know You Co, we are a small, dedicated team of General Practitioners who have a special interest in providing personalised chronic disease management and health promotion – and we’re looking for a warm, organised, and compassionate Medical Receptionist to join our team!
About the Role
As the first point of contact for our patients, you’ll play a key role in creating a welcoming and positive environment. You’ll help to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of our practice, supporting our team and our patients.
The position is approximately 20 hours per week, ideally spread across 3-4 days with the potential for extra hours to cover scheduled leave. There is a great amount of flexibility across the hours you work, supporting you to have your desired work-life balance - perfect for working parents or carers!
Key Responsibilities
Reception & Administration
We are looking for an Administration superstar to conduct general Medical Reception duties, which include but may not be limited to:
Opening and/or closing the practice each day, assisting with general housekeeping tasks.
Greeting patients and visitors with warmth, professionalism, and care.
Managing patient check-ins, appointment scheduling, and appropriate follow-up.
Liaising with patients and external stakeholders promptly and courteously across phone, text, email, or in-person.
Processing payments via phone, EFTPOS, or cash; issue invoices, receipts, and bulk-billings as required.
Facilitate information exchange between patients and Practitioner.
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
Brings warmth, compassion, and professionalism to all their interactions.
Has excellent communication skills across a variety of mediums.
Is organised, able to take initiative, and possesses strong time-management skills - supporting their abilities to work with minimal direct supervision.
Is a team player who enjoys contributing to a supportive, positive, and fun workplace environment.
Has strong tech-literacy skills (Microsoft Office, Windows, etc).
Likes to be curious, open to learning, and adaptable to the evolving needs of our boutique practice.
While the following skills are not mandatory, it would be a perfect match if you:
Have had prior experience as a Medical Receptionist
Have experience with BestPractice software
