We are looking for a casual Medical Secretary to join our specialist practice in Deakin. We are willing hire someone to job share and you will be part of a close friendly team that works hard to provide excellent patient care.

The role will include:

• taking telephone calls and enquiries from patients and health practitioners
• attending to patients and their families in the practice
• booking new and followup appointments and managing accounts for patients
• billing including Medicare and health funds
• using practice management software
• booking theatre lists and communicating with hospital staff
• general office administration duties

Ideally, you will:

• be compassionate and empathetic
• be reliable and have a good sense of humour
• be organised, show initiative and communicate well
• team player and unafraid to ask questions
• some experience as a medical secretary
• familiarity with medical practice management software (Gentu)
