Woods & Co Recruitment have partnered with a thriving business in the building and construction industry seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join their finance team.

This is a hands-on role offering exposure across both AR and AP, as well as the opportunity to support process improvements and play a key part in the finance function for their QLD regional branch.

What do you do?

• Manage day-to-day Accounts Receivable: invoicing, payments, and debtor follow-ups
• Assist with Accounts Payable: coding, monthly reconciliations, and payments
• Support month-end reporting and financial accuracy for the QLD branch
• Oversee the expense management system: review reimbursements and card claims
• Collaborate with the wider finance team to improve systems and processes
• Provide leave cover and general finance support as needed

What do you need?

• 2+ years’ experience in a similar finance role (construction industry a plus)
• Solid understanding of both AR and AP processes
• Proficiency in Xero, MYOB or similar accounting software
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• High attention to detail and accountability
