Senior Engineering Manager – eCommerce Platform Re-Architecture

Location: Melbourne (Hybrid)
Contract Type: Contract to Perm (Daily Rate: $1200–$1600)

About the Role:
We’re hiring a Senior Engineering Manager to spearhead the technical delivery of a large-scale ecommerce re-platforming effort. You will own the engineering strategy, manage distributed teams, and work across architecture, delivery, and operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive end-to-end engineering delivery for platform re-architecture
• Lead high-performing onsite/offshore engineering teams
• Partner with product and architecture leaders to shape the future-state platform
• Oversee coding standards, DevOps, testing, and deployment strategies
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering managers and teams
  
  

What We’re Looking For:

• Led the complete lifecycle of major platform transformations
• Background in omnichannel retail or digital commerce environments
• Deep experience with cloud-native engineering (AWS/GCP/Azure – any is fine)
• Comfortable shaping team structures and delivery frameworks in scaled tech organisations
• Strong leadership, delivery acumen, and stakeholder management skills
• Overseas experience welcome if you have a valid working visa with no restrictions and are able to start work immediately
• Exposure to Flipkart desirable but not essential

• Hybrid work (3 days in the office)
• Initial contract role with the expectation to become permanent (option to remain on contract depending on preference)
• Eastern suburbs, close to the CBD
• Daily rate: $1,200~$1,600 depending on experience
