We're partnering with a leading government department to recruit a Senior Engineer / Technical Officer - Road Design on an initial 6-month contract. Your new role
As a Senior Engineer / Technical Officer - Road Design, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality road design services that support the planning, development, and maintenance of Victoria's transport infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include:

• End-to-End Road Design Delivery
  Lead the design and documentation of road infrastructure projects from concept through to detailed design, ensuring alignment with relevant standards such as Austroads Guide to Road Design and departmental supplements. Projects will span both urban and rural environments, including new construction and upgrades.
• Engage with Stakeholders
  Present and explain your design work confidently to internal and external stakeholders, offering practical solutions and maintaining strong working relationships.
• Technical Excellence Using Industry Tools
  Apply advanced skills in Bentley MicroStation, OpenRoads, and ProjectWise to produce accurate and efficient road designs. You'll be responsible for your own drafting and for integrating your work into broader project documentation.
  
  

What you'll need to succeed

• Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering
• 8+ years of experience in road design, ideally with a focus on highway design
• Proficiency in MicroStation, OpenRoads, and ProjectWise is essential
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work under limited supervision
• A proactive, collaborative approach and a commitment to quality outcomes
