Salary: $91,307.84 per annum pro rata

Greater Shepparton City Council is searching for a passionate and strategic leader to champion excellence in practice, safety, and compliance across our Children’s services. This is your chance to step into a pivotal role that goes beyond policies—one that inspires educators, safeguards children, and elevates service quality every day.
What You'll Do:
Lead the way in embedding a child-safe culture, ensuring every policy, process, and action prioritises the safety and wellbeing of children.
Be the guiding light for our educators—mentoring Educational Leaders and supporting best practice aligned with the VEYLDF and current regulatory standards.
Drive compliance initiatives with autonomy, confidence, and clarity, making informed decisions that meet and exceed legislative requirements.
Transform policies into practice by providing training, coaching, and guidance, creating a culture of accountability and excellence.
Collaborate with the Children’s Services management team to continually improve quality frameworks across all services.
What You Bring:
A deep understanding of early childhood education standards, compliance frameworks, and the VEYLDF.
A commitment to child safety and the ability to lead others in creating safer learning environments.
Strong mentoring and leadership skills with the ability to influence, inspire, and uplift.
Sharp problem-solving instincts and the confidence to make autonomous decisions that align with best practice.
Applicants must hold the following current qualifications and certificates:
Minimum Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (or equivalent recognised by ACECQA)
Current HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an education and care setting
Current CPR – HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
Criminal History Check (valid within six months).
Current and valid Employee Working with Children Check (WWCC) / Current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration
Protecting Children – Mandatory reporting and other obligations early childhood
Position is for 24 hrs per week – hours and days can be negotiated.
