About Malton Road

We are a boutique insurance brokerage, working primarily with small to medium sized businesses. Our clients tend to have more complex insurance needs and rely on us to identify risk, design insurance programs and advocate at claims time. We're more about quality of cover, less about price. Culture and vibe is everything to us - we treat everyone the same, be that client, insurer or staff.

About the role

Know nothing about insurance, but keen to learn? No problem. We love to train people with an appetite for learning. We will however need at least 4 years office experience.

This role represents an exciting opportunity to work side-by-side with a seasoned account broker and account executive on a largely SME client base (including some larger corporate clients).

Whilst the role does not require a degree qualification, priority will be given to those who have completed some level of tertiary education - no matter what the area.

We are open to both full-time and part-time arrangements and are happy to negotiate the structure of the role with the right candidate

Our Workspace

Our office is nestled in the historic Summer Hill, housed in a beautifully converted flour mill, complete with a café, coffee roaster and shops. Commuting is a breeze with a light rail stop less than 100 meters away and train stations within a short walk. Street parking is readily available for those who prefer to drive.

We are not fussed on corporate attire, we're pretty casual here (neat and tidy/smart casual).

Key Responsibilities:

Service allocated renewals and new business, including claims and all related processing

Support both the senior broker and account executive as required

Responding to client queries - endorsements, Certificates, queries etc.

Running weekly debtor reports and chase outstanding debts

Running monthly and quarterly renewal reports, preparing questionnaires

Maintain sound records of all work within broking software and electronic filing systems

Ensure the smooth running of the office generally

Critical skills required:

4 years experience working in an office environment

Attention to detail - this is non-negotiable and something we test for

A hunger for learning

Ability to adapt and prioritise work

Strong communication skills (both written and oral)

Computer literacy and reasonable typing speed
