Do you enjoy keeping things running smoothly, supporting a team, and helping others succeed? Are you organised, tech-friendly, and passionate about making a difference behind the scenes?
The Community Media Training Organisation (CMTO) is looking for an Office & Team Support Coordinator to ensure our daily operations run seamlessly, support our staff and students, and help deliver high-quality, inclusive training services to Australia’s community media sector.
Why CMTO?
The CMTO is a nationally recognised Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and charity dedicated to providing accessible and engaging training for community broadcasters across Australia. We work with Indigenous, multilingual, disability, ethnic, and regional communities to ensure diverse voices are heard in Australia’s media landscape.
Our mission is to empower people through training and learning. As part of our small, purpose-driven team, you’ll help make this possible by keeping our office, systems, and people supported and connected.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Providing day-to-day administrative support to the CEO and team, including managing calendars, meetings, travel, and projects.
Overseeing office supplies, equipment, and remote work arrangements.
Offering first-line IT support (Microsoft 365 troubleshooting, account setup, connectivity).
Coordinating equipment logistics for training sessions and maintaining digital systems.
Managing student records in the Student Management System and supporting students with basic tech help (e.g., Moodle).
Tracking training data and preparing reports for internal and external use.
Acting as a primary point of contact for staff, students, board members, and external stakeholders.
Handling phone and email enquiries professionally, and ensuring smooth communication across the team.
What We’re Looking For:
Solid experience in office administration or coordination.
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Forms) and confidence using other digital tools.
Excellent organisational, planning, and time management skills.
Clear and effective written and verbal communication.
High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
Professionalism and discretion in handling confidential or sensitive information.
Collaborative approach, with the ability to multitask and solve problems independently.
Desirable (but Not Essential):
Knowledge of or experience in the community broadcasting or VET education/training sector.
Familiarity with Student Management Systems (e.g., aXcelerate) or Learning Management Systems (e.g., Moodle).
Experience supporting diverse communities, including First Nations people, young people, and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
