Manning Support Services (MSS) is an award-winning community service organisation that has been operating on the NSW Mid North Coast for more than 40 years. MSS has an opportunity for a full-time Injury Prevention and Management Coordinator to join our Human Resources team based in Taree.

The Injury Prevention and Management Coordinator role is responsible for providing specialist advice and a high level of coordination and support to all MSS sites regarding the management of workers compensation claims and return to work programs as well as supporting proactive safety activities. This position works closely with the WHS Coordinator to promote and support a strong safety culture across our organisation.

Tasks and responsibilities include:

Management of worker’s compensation claims and return to work cases (including reconciliation of claims)

Liaise with the leadership team and roster team to determine suitable duties of workers in the RTW program

Provide advice to the Leadership team on best practice injury prevention and workplace wellbeing approaches

Provide complex reports to the leadership team regarding RTW

Assist with MSS policies, procedures and WHS documentation.

Selection Criteria

Qualifications and Requirements

Certificate IV or above qualification in Workplace Health and Safety or equivalent

Return to Work Coordinator training

Current NSW driver’s licence and NSW registered vehicle

Skills and Experience

Minimum 3 years' experience in the management of return-to-work programs and worker’s compensation claims

General understanding of worker’s compensation premiums and claims costs

Demonstrated experience in conducting training, awareness, and education of employees in injury prevention programs and initiatives

Demonstrated experience in the development of proactive WHS and wellbeing programs

Personal Attributes

Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills

High-level administrative skills, including the proficient use of Microsoft Office programs and experience using a range of software

Exceptional time management skills with the ability to prioritise and get things done

Experience developing and delivering training to teams and individuals is beneficial

Ability to work collaboratively and autonomously in a complex, fast-paced, and challenging environment

Ability to interpret and analyse data and report trends
