Are you an experienced nurse or healthcare professional ready to step into a leadership role? We are looking for a dedicated Team Leader to support and guide a team of nurses, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, client-centred care.
About the Role
As a Team Leader, you will be the key point of contact for nursing teams supporting individual clients. Each client will have a dedicated Team Leader to oversee and enhance care delivery, ensure compliance, and foster a supportive and collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Onboarding
Participate in interviewing and selecting nursing staff
Oversee onboarding and implement tailored training plans
Develop strategies for nurse attraction and retention
Team & Client Support
Provide ongoing peer support to the nursing team
Conduct daily check-ins and monitor team notes
Liaise with clients’ NOK (Next of Kin) or primary carers
Ensure compliance with relevant care standards and documentation
Identify and mitigate risks for clients, staff, and the organisation
Operational Leadership
Support daily operations, including stock control, processes, and action planning
Monitor and maintain nurse competencies and training records
Ensure policy and procedure adherence and staff accountability
Encourage flexibility and cross-shift learning opportunities (e.g., night nurses gaining day shift experience)
What You’ll Bring
Registered Nurse (or relevant qualification in healthcare)
Proven leadership or team coordination experience
Strong understanding of compliance, risk management, and clinical governance
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Passion for continuous improvement and team development

What we're looking for:
Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse with a minimum of two years’ experience in a Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) in a tertiary hospital
Demonstrated ability to manage complex physical health and disability-related care needs in children
A strong commitment to family-centred care and improving the quality of life in the community
A desire to build a long-term working relationship within a supportive and passionate team
A valid drivers license and reliable transport
